The “Amalfi Coast Drive” is said to be the most spectacular in Europe and from winding cliff top road offers breathtaking panoramic views at every turn. Each spot is a world of its own, a fantastic world which dazzles the imagination and inspires unforgettable impressions. We reach Amalfi, which gives its name to the whole coast on which it lies. This was once a thriving Marine Republic, powerful and prosperous, and now a thriving holiday resort. The unmistakable cluster of white tightly packed houses rising up the hillside is dominated by the beautiful Cathedral which stands superbly on the top of a great flight of steps leading up from the main square. Housed in the magnificent Cathedral are the remains of the Patron Saint of Amalfi and also Scotland – Saint Andrew. From Amalfi we visit Ravello which nestles eleven hundred feet above the sea in the mountainside. We visit the Villa Rufolo which gave the musician Richard Wagner the inspiration to create some of his most famous works. And also the gardens of Villa Cimbrone
Returning back you will drive through the agriculture area of the peninsula
back into the port of call in time for embarking, During the day you will be able to discuss the many different aspects of the area and also on request enjoy a local restaurant for lunch paying not much but experiencing the local cuisine.

Known as the Amalfi Coast (Costiera Amalfitana), the 50km of coastline from Sorrento to Salerno is one of Europe’s most beautiful. The narrow and winding corniche road (Statale 163) that hugs this rugged coastline is known as the Amalfi Drive, and is justly famous as one of the world’s most hair-raising and most scenic motoring experiences.
From the east, the route begins in Salerno, a working port city that makes a good jumping-off spot for the less-developed Cilento coast and high hills and valleys inland. Beyond the town of Vietri sul Mare, famous for its colorful ceramic ware, the route passes Cetara, a tiny fishing village clasped tightly at the end of its narrow valley that is probably the Amalfi Coast at its least touristy, the bustling resort of Maiori and the small picturesque town of Minori.
